The Shermanator Triathlon & 5K Run is hosted at the Sherman Lake YMCA Outdoor Center. A USA Triathlon sanctioned event, the Shermanator is excellent for the beginner or competitive athlete. The Shermanator has raised funds annually for the Sherman Lake YMCA to benefit families in need of Kalamazoo and Calhoun Counties. The Sherman Lake YMCA programs build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities through instilling values of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility. It is only with the great support of people such as yourself, that more than 160 individuals received partial financial assistance to become members at the Sherman Lake YMCA in 2007. Participating in this event provides the opportunity for fellow community members to live a healthier lifestyle in spirit, mind, and body at Sherman Lake YMCA. Net proceeds from the Shermanator benefit the Sherman Lake YMCA, a 501(c)3 organization, Annual Campaign for Scholarships.

Triathlon Course Description - All legs of the Triathlon begin and end at transition, located at the Sherman Lake YMCA waterfront. The course: 500 yard swim (out & back) in beautiful Sherman Lake, a 10 mile bike and 5K run on rolling hills and flats along local roads and paved trails.

5K Run Course Description - The 5K run course begins and finishes at the Sherman Lake YMCA waterfront. The 5K course consists of rolling hills and flats on paved trails and local roads. The 5K run follows the same course as the Triathlon run.
