Our Mission - The Sherman Lake YMCA Outdoor Center strengthens the spirit, mind, and body while instilling an appreciation of our natural environment. The Shermanator helps by generating funds for our Community Scholarship Program.
The Shermanator Triathlon is a fund raising event for the Community Scholarship Program of the Sherman Lake YMCA Center in Augusta, Michigan. The race venue is the YMCA Camp and surrounding area.  You will find it to be one of the most beautiful race venues in the region.  The Shermanator celebrates it’s 7th anniversary with the 2009 race.  Beginning with the 2008 event, the decision was made to put the triathlon focus entirely on a Sprint distance event to provide athletes and spectators with what we hope you will agree is a World Class event.

Triathlon discipline distances: 500Y Swim, 10M Bike, 5K Run.

2009 date: Saturday, August 1

Welcome!

Thank you all for coming out to participate in the 2008 Shermanator Triathlon & 5K Run. It has been an exciting year, not only did we reach capacity for the Triathlon but we had more participants than ever before!

We hope everyone enjoyed Sherman Lake YMCA, and greatly thank you for participating in an effort to live a healthier life and to help local families! Your participation in the Shermanator provides scholarships to local kids and families to attend Sherman Lake YMCA summer camp and become YMCA members. It is your effort that we can build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities.
